The competition was organised by Damien and took place on 23 July 2011 at Stirling University. The tournament started at 1430 and finished at 1820 due to delays. Results were displayed live on the internet with links to the videos using a new tournament client written by Thomas.
Fritz made a YouTube video blog of the tournament. It includes Rubik Cubes, the official announcement for Zurich 2011, the awards ceremony and other moments from the competition.
UK 2011 was the first tournament to use Real Time.
The minesweeper version used was Viennasweeper 2.2.
